Berber Necklace – South Morocco

Early 20th century. Silver, madrepore coral gr. 170,0 (5.99 oz.). The nacklace is cm. 43 long (16.92 Inches); the large central talisman is cm. 12,00 long and cm. 7,0 width (4.72″ x 2.75″). This talisman of fertility represents the nine moons of human gestation. Berbers are the indigenous ethnic group of North Africa. They are continuously distributed from the Atlantic to the Siwa oasis in Egypt, and from the Mediterranean to the Niger River. Sold
