Throughout history the phenomenon of twins has always been the subject of great curiosity and charm, such as surprising and uncontrollable force of nature, stimulating particular actions and behaviors.
In Togo and Bènin, if one or both twins die, they become immortal and are represented through statuettes that the mother must always carry with her. In this population, twins are considered perfect, their birth as the arrival of exceptional beings on earth and their mother as an elect by God.
