Early to mid 20th century. Carved wood. Cm. 40,0 long (15.75″); grams 318,8 (11.25 oz.). Former German collection.

These pipes, often decorated with fine carvings and ornaments, are considered objects of prestige and social status, rather than simple smoking tools. The shape of the pipe, especially the mouth, is often carved in the shape of a human head, a recurring motif in Kuba art.
