Old brass casting depicting a stylized lion, cast using the traditional lost-wax technique. The compact body, incised linear detailing, spiral motifs on the flanks, and emphasized head reflect the symbolic vocabulary of Akan–Ashanti metalwork, where animal forms are commonly associated with strength, authority, and protective power. Such objects were produced as prestige, ritual, or symbolic figures within the cultural context of southern Ghana.
