Old African Currency – NGELIMA – DR Congo
Copper Alloy. 19th century. Cm. 15,5 width x 10,3 high (6.10 x 4.06 Inches); grams 1.644,0 (58.70 oz.).
Copper ingot curved and modelled in varius piani on the outer part. Comes from region of the Aruvimi lowlands and Lomami. Used for barter, it was sometimes melted down to make other objects.
