The Uzbeks are a Turkic ethnic group native to Central Asia, being among the largest Turkic ethnic groups in the area. Uzbeks share a large portion of their ancestry with nearby Turkic populations, including Kyrgyz people, Uyghurs, Kazakhs and Bashkirs.
