On the customized stand (iron) the piece is approx. cm 50,0 high x cm 35,0 width (19.69″ x 13.78″).
This headdress is both a decoration and an object intimidation for neighboring enemies.
The Mursi are a Nilotic pastoralist ethnic group in the Ethiopian Empire. According to the 2007 national census, there are 7,500 Mursi. Surrounded by mountains between the Omo River and its tributary the Mago, the home of the Mursi is one of the most isolated regions of the country.
