African Currency – BUDJA – DR Congo
The piece is 8,8 width x 10,0 high (3.46″ x 3.93″). Gr. 369,4 (13.03 oz.).
The Budja are a small group settled in the northern region of the Congo, along the river dell’Itimbiri, a right tributary of the Congo River. This coin, which appears to be an open bracelet, was used in trade. The flat end is marked by a working horizontal stripes.
