1960′-1970′. Silver, wool. The nacklace is cm. 47,5 long (18.70 Inches); the larger “claw” is 7,6 cm long (2.99 Inches), the smaller one is cm 5,5 long (2.16 Inches). Gr. 100,1 (3.53 oz.). The Gnawa are an ethnic group formed by the descendants of ancient slaves from south of the Sahara. The Islamic brotherhood of Gnawa is closely linked to this component of the population of servile origin. The religious aspects of the Gnawa are one of many examples of syncretism between animist cults and Islam. Sold
