Mossi Fabric – Man’s Robe – Burkina Faso
1980′. Cotton. Fabric made from 13 strips sewn together. Cm. 146,0 high x cm. 100 width (57.48″ x 39.37″).
Narrow strips of handwoven cotton – 11 cm in wide – are stitched together into a whole cloth, then dip dyed several times in indigo and embroidered. The indigo colour has aged gracefully and the cloth have a lovely, soft feel.
This fabric has been professionally washed.
