Tuareg Hand of Fatima – KHOMISSAR – Algeria

Silver on leather. Cm. 4,5 high x cm. 4,5 width (1.77″ x 1.77″). The Khomissar is a stylized form of the Hand of Fatima, daughter of the Prophet, and then a symbol of protection. The Hand is worn as protection against the evil eye and negative energies. It represents at the same time, the female fertility or a talisman of the earth.
