Old Kele Lokele Knife – DR Congo – Rare Complete Item


Forged iron double shear shaped blade engraved on both sides placed in a wodden and baskettery sheath. Wodden handle. Period patina. The piece is 35,5 high; the blade is 28,8 long. Grams 183,9.

The Kele people (or Lokele) are a Bantu ethnic group of about 160,000 people, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They mainly live on the south bank of the Congo River between Kisangani and Isangi. The Kele are a subgroup of The Mongo people.
